WR Cryptic Crossword Clues 7-2-18

1) Little time for tea or coffee (5) M _ _ _ _
An easy one to start with.
A 2 letter word for a SHORT TIME followed by a 3 letter word for TEA (the drink).


2) Herb grown by arrogant cook.. (18 ) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
An anagram (cook) of ARROGANT.


3) Join two signs leading to book stores (9) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Two star signs joined with a common middle letter.


4) Stars go out through these (5, 5 ) S _ _ _ _ D _ _ _ _
Stars in this case is entertainers, an exit from a theatre.


5) Nightingale seen in Italian city. (8 ) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Can you spot the connection?


6) Letters from Oscar certainly seem few and far between. (6) _ _ _ _ _ _
In consecutive letters in the clue.


7) Like a jumping cow, highly delighted. (4, 3, 4) O _ _ _ _ _ _ M_ _ _
No Help.

On reflection, I should've perhaps put some missing letters in that Clue 9.

I think the word that means 'discover the truth' is very informal,

and hence difficult to know.

Hiero answered most of the clues but when Hiero went to post his answers he discovered he'd, inadvertently, clicked on 'New Topic' instead of 'Reply to topic'. He was very angry with himself!
