The question is a little confusing.

How can X/3 = X?

If what is the value of XXX means what is the perimeter length of the triangle,

then surely it is 3X, it being an equilateral triangle.

Re: Brain teasers

Solution:

888

Explanation:
Part-1: Triangle
The triangle is an equilateral triangle.
The value of E and L is determined by the position in the English alphabets i.e E = 5 & L = 12. Together they form number 512

As we know that the equilateral triangle has 3 equal sides, therefore
X^3 = 512
X = 8
=> XXX = 888 ... (desired)

Part-1: X/3 = X
X is the 24th letter, therefore 24/3 = 8

Yes, I did wonder what the significance of EL was.

Of course it's not X/3 = X, but The cube root of X.

Anyroad, I do understand the workings out.

Fairly straightforward Gassey, the answer is BALANCHINE.

I have no idea who BALANCHINE is, but all the others are very well known

orchestral conductors.

Thomas Beecham, Not sure of Dudmel’s first name, Simon Rattle, John Sargent and

George Solti.

I was very confident of my answer TBH Gassey,

that sounds a bit big headed, but I don't mean it to be.

When Mac was six years old he hammered a nail into his favorite tree to mark his height.
Five years later at age eleven , Mac returned to see how much higher the nail was.
If the tree grew by ten inches each year, how much higher would the nail be?

I would say 40" taller.

You don't count the year that he turns eleven.
