There is a three digit number. The second digit is four times as big as the third digit, while the first digit is three less than the second digit. What is the number?

Correct Mache

I have no hard feelings towards geometry
But line and angle pertain to my enemy

Transparent surfaces afford my exposure
But at the same time, they comprise my enclosure

Should it be ultimately that boats my fate seal
You might later find me next to chips in a meal

What am I?

I display things neatly in rows,
Things common, exotic and some rarely known.

Many of these things there can be,
A few, a dozen or a hundred and three.

By combining my wares one can make cakes,
One can make forests, or one can make lakes.

I can be found color coded,
Black and white, or diligently noted.

I organize ingredients from light to heavy
The selection of which there is a bevy.

Although my order occurs naturally,
It also makes sense to organize factually.

What am I

30 people were given 10 quiz questions, they correctly answered an average of only three each.

After a further 30 people had answered the quiz, the average number of correct answers rose to six per person.

What was the average number of correct answers from each of the last 30 people only?

First 30 = 30 x 3 =  90 questions in total

All 60 = 60 x 6 = 360 questions in total

360 – 90 = 270

Second 30 = 270/30 = 9 questions on average

I may be wrong of course  Embarassed

I bet myg has already solved this.

I was trying to be clever and solve it using equations.
In the end I figured column 3 might be the one to solve by putting in values and
seeing if they would resolve the other columns.
Purely by luck or a flook, I picked black as 14, which made red 6.
That made yellow = 17.

Column 4 = red + black + yellow + black = 51

Columns 2 and 3 show that 3 yellows equals 3 blues+9 i.e.yellow equals blue +3
and so column 4 is column 3 +3 or 51 as you rightly say.

Well done myg Brain teasers - Page 6 3530011831

Your logic is far more methodical than my randomness LOL Embarassed Embarassed

I had the following ;-

Yellow = a
Red = b
Black = c

Column 1 a + 2b + c = 43
Column 2 3a + b = 57
Column 3 b + 3c = 48
Column 4 a + 2b + 2c = ?

I don’t know if the above equations can be resolved, maybe too many unknowns.

Each red circle is worth 6, each blue circle is worth 14 and each yellow circle is worth 17.

A generous boy wanted to give sweets to his classmates.

He offered 9 sweets to each boy and 12 sweets to each girl.

One third of the boys in the class accepted the sweets but only one quarter of the girls had the sweets.

If the boy gave out 87 sweets, how many classmates did he have?
