We should call you Lurcio

A hiker walks from one town to another.

On the first day she covers one fifth of the total distance.

The next day she covers a quarter of what is left.

The following day she covers two fifths of the remainder and on the fourth day half of the remaining distance.

She now has 25 miles left.

How many miles has she travelled?

Let d = total distance between towns

Day 1 = 1/5d

Day 2 = ¼ x 4/5d = 1/5d

Day 3 = 2/5 x 3/5d = 6/25d

Day 4 = ½ x 9/25d = 9/50d

Day 5 = 25 miles

The sum of the distance covered in the first 4 days + 25 = d

41/50d + 25 = d

25 = 9/50d

Distance travelled = 138.88 miles (the ,88 is recurring)

Over 25 weeks, a student trying to save up for a much wanted item only managed to put aside an average of £2 per week.

He then found a part-time job and after a total of 45 weeks his average savings rose to £9 per week.

How much did he save on average each week for the 20 weeks after getting the job?

Amount saved over first 25 weeks = 25 x 2 = £50

Amount saved over total 45 weeks = 45 x 9 = £405

Therefore amount saved over last 20 weeks = £405 – £50 = £355

Average weekly saving over last 20 weeks = 355/20

Answer = £17.75 per week

A cow is tied to a 4 meter long rope. There is food, 20 meters away from the cow. However, the cow manages to go to the food and eat it. How come?

Must have missed one off Very Happy but it's not V

England. Each letter has been replaced by the one following it in the alphabet.

Rearrange the letters of ‘STROLLER ON GO AMASSES NOTHING’
