WW, I only knew the Jimmy Ruffin version.
When I Googled the song it appears to have been recorded by several artists.

1966 the Supremes
1966 Chris Farlowe
1967 Jimmy Ruffin
1977 Joe Cocker
1988 Boy George
1992 Paul Young
1996 Robson and Jerome
200 Jimmy Barnes
2002 The Funk Brothers
2006 The Temptations
2014 Boyzone

I suspect the Jimmy Ruffin and Supremes versions were the only true 'hits'.
I normally check the date when I put the 'pop' questions on. in this case I appear
to have been remiss Embarassed
Anyroad both answers are acceptable.

WW, at the end of the day the quiz is just a bit of fun between friends.
If there was money for prizes, then the answers would need to be
100% verifiable.
I always double check the questions from at least two sources,
occasionally, as with this, I was remiss.
