A 3 letter river containing a 3 letter word for ALLOWED.
SCRUB in this case is remove.

Can you suss it?

We had a great trip out in Wigan, and of all the things, I bumped into an old

childhood friend who I've not seen for 50 to 60 years, it was him who recognised me,

so we had a good chinwag to catch up on our lives, most enjoyable.
