Potato Roses
Sat Jul 30, 2016 2:58 pm

Did you know that potatoes can help roses develop strong and healthy roots? If you want to grow your own rose garden, you can easily propagate the roses with the help of potatoes. Just cut a piece of rose bush and snip off the leaves, flowers, and thorns. Create a hole on the potato about 3 inches deep and place the rose piece in. Place it in a pot of moistened soil and then cover the rose piece with a soda bottle to act as its greenhouse.

My Dad used spuds to propagate his roses like that, when they were established he would bury banana skins around the base to feed them.

Why are you surprised?
Because your dad was going to live forever, just like mine was.
Heartfelt condolences. mac.
