First topic message reminder :
The Goose Green to Westwood Park Link Road, is due to start construction soon and I know that Tomplum is really looking forward to work on the new road starting and mac said in another topic that they have been pegging out for the road bridge over the stream, so this is a plan of the new road, which has been made by a company called Tekla

Well that was my first thought and all the moulds are being stacked up ready, but this was just one concrete mixer on it's own, so I have a feeling it was putting the concrete down as part of the construction site and when they start pouring mega amounts of concrete, they normally have a concrete plant on site.

I noticed that bricklaying was underway on both sides of the canal at Poolstock last week.

No mortar is used in those retaining walls. They are just stacked with pins and plastic sheeting..

I believe the method was invented by Moroccan farmers a couple of thousand years ago!

Looking at your video Tom on't tuther side of canal, on the Westwood side, it looks like they have already been pouring concrete, because it looks like the concrete foundations for the bridge abutment on that side t'cut, has already been constructed

No concrete has been poured on the Westwood side yet, some time this week they will pour on the top of the retaining wall, and build the bridge supports on that.

Jones the builder is a very well sorted out firm , they did the Llanidloes Bye pass a few years ago , the main new road from Builth to Newbridge . And they are at present finishing off the Newtown bye pass which involved moving two very large hills , and took them 4 years . So I think they are a good company who knows their job .

The crane driver normally works for Barclay's as a bank manager. He's doing the Smithy Brook bridge job 'on the side while the bank's shut'!
