First topic message reminder :
The Goose Green to Westwood Park Link Road, is due to start construction soon and I know that Tomplum is really looking forward to work on the new road starting and mac said in another topic that they have been pegging out for the road bridge over the stream, so this is a plan of the new road, which has been made by a company called Tekla
Sniffy Brook Bridge

Brilliant videos Tom
On your Saturday video, you showed the acoustic fencing in place in Worlsey Mesnes, and I noticed that it was held in place by thick steel girders, and earlier in the project I explained that those girders were actually part of a safety barrier system, and each girder must be thirty feet long, with each girder having it's own hole drilled by a drilling machine, which means that about 20ft of each girder is actually concreted into the ground, to anchor them in place, in order to stop a vehicle such has a wagon careering off the new road on that first corner, and crashing through that fencing and into the houses there.

Tomplum,
Diggers are either Aussies or Tonka toys. Those are excavators. Those dump trucks are new borns of the Dump Truck world, little babies. Google Cat 789’s when you get a minute. Keep up the good video’s.

the foot path/cycle way, I've been looking at it and concluded that, you can get on at Goose Green and walk/cycle to Wigan but, when yooo reach the canal, you have to go to lock 2 to cross the canal then double back to the 'on ramp'' back up to the new road, I cannot see the point in that as, its easier, shorter and environmentally better to keep on the canal and walk cycle into wigan that way, Extending that pathway has no benefits only to the road builders,

Fencing and landscaping work in progress near the Poolstock canal bridge this morning. It looks like the tarmac works and street lighting may now be done.
Does anyone have an opening date yet?

I was talking to Cadfiel, he works on the security and he told me 6 to seven weeks to the road being ready to drive on, that was 3 weeks ago so, that means 3 to 4 weeks for completion and then there'll be other works like, commissioning the traffic lights and alterations, It will in service before the country is back to normal for sure,

Yesterday I noticed that the footpath they are building from Goose Green to Poolstock, via Worsley Mesnes at the side of the road is being landscaped with trees and it has its own street lamps on it
