Pemberton Pens
Sun Jan 08 2017, 18:45
First I've heard of them A creative writing group.
"Pemberton Pens are really supportive and positive about my writing. The thing I love about it most is the way it stimulates my brain. It keeps your mind active trying to write about something outside of your experiences. It’s been a useful platform to share my life experiences. I’ve become a lot more involved in the community because of joining one group"

Are pens provided? I have several geese that need a home.

My dad used to have a Pen but it was in Orrell at the back of Bradshaw Street. He used to keep his budgies and a cockerel there but no geese. I think you'd call them allotments now.

I remember those allotments Mrs A. I always thought how great it would be to have one of them. I seem to remember Redwood Ave as well but after going onto Google Earth I see they have all gone and houses are there, unless my memory fades.
Can anyone enlighten please?

Don't remember any allotments there Derf. Just the ones I mentioned at the back of Bradshaw St. Where the bakery was.

I always thought that there were allotments behind these houses as you turn onto Redwood Ave from Brook Lane and before you get to Bradshaw Street. Must be getting old. I can see your allotments Mrs A, on Google Earth, behind Gaskell's bakery and opposite Greenhey across the fields. There are quite a few there today even.
