Council of the Future ... Right Here, Right Now
Guest blog by Alison McKenzie-Folan, Deputy Chief Executive, Wigan Council
www.techuk.org (27th Nov 2017):
4. Use digital to assist those most in need
The potential for digital and tech to improve the lives of residents who access our adult social care services is enormous. We are already using a range of innovative digital assistive technologies, as part of our People Powered Technology (PPT) project, to create new models of independent living and enable self-care. This technology monitors and supports people with disabilities to stay safe and more independent in their homes.

I haven't found more information on Wigan Council's website so far.
For anyone interested though, there is an opportunity to learn more about PPT at Healthwatch Wigan and Leigh's next public forum:
Tue, 5th Dec at Sunshine House Annexe, Scholes, 10am - 11am
Jane Stevens of Wigan Council will talk about the People Powered Technology Service which gives residents a digital health and social care offer, and also demonstrate some of the equipment.
Registration open from 9.30am, refreshments served at 11am.
To register contact Karen Wilson by 5pm Friday 1st Dec:
karenw@healthwatchwiganandleigh.co.uk or 01942 834666
