I am allfor keeping plastics contained but I was thinking today about this ozone layer. We seem to have had fires raging all over the world all year plus volcanoes erupting and I wonder how all this activity comes into the equation. We have a carbon tax here to try to get us to use less heating and petrol but the savings ( if any) must be nothing in comparison to what nature is doing.

Plastic doesn't biodegrade for many, many years, and humans are to fault with more CO2 than volcanoes are.

In the Us, we cut down trees, and waste a lot of wood on stuff. We don't think to replant another tree where that tree once stood. I guess in Hawaii, they don't have plastic or paper but reusable bags. Every country should be using them instead of wood of the trees. In grocery stores they still use paper bags either to sell for like bag lunches and plastic bags for groceries and other items. We all need to be using regular reusable bags, backpacks or something else

Malaysia will send back some 3,000 metric tonnes (3,300 tons) of non-recyclable plastic waste to countries including the UK, US, Canada and Australia in a move to avoid becoming a dumping ground for rich nations, the country's environment minister said.
In one case alone, Ms Yeo said a UK recycling company exported more than 50,000 metric tonnes of plastic waste in about 1,000 containers to Malaysia over the past two years.

Sainsbury’s has announced it plans to remove plastic bags for all loose fruit, veg and bakery items.
As of September, customers will be able to make use of paper bags while shopping in the bakery section and can use their own bags or buy reusable ones when purchasing fruit and veg.
The supermarket claims the move will reduce its plastic output by 489 tonnes.
Sainsbury’s has also vowed to remove plastic cutlery from its stores in addition to plastic lids from cream pots and plastic trays for tomatoes and carrots.

Read this AM about some young girls inventing a way to reduce plastics to water and Co2, can't remember where I read it though.
Wasn't this, this is from 2016, and nothing has come of that one.

Wigan has been named as the top plastic recycling town in the UK, following a recent survey.
Cosmetics giant, The Body Shop, has revealed that 9,000 tons of plastic were sent for recycling between 2017 and 2018.
The borough was listed as the top town or city by a long way, recycling almost double that of Swansea, the next closest area, where residents recycled 4,982 tons last year.
