It’s about 12 months since I last had a chat with Pat. He was writing a history of Ashton Town football club having been a talented player there in his younger days. He was very modest about his prowess on the football field.
RIP Pat.

I have heard tell of his playing career as a young man, a fine player and a loyal Man Utd supporter.

Rip Pat, I knew him personally since school days, he always shone on the sports field, always head and shoulders above us mere mortals, He would have run the 800 yard race before I'd done 200 yards,
The person he projected on WW was nothing like his real personality, he was thoughtful ,caring and always helpful.
Competitive on the football field with the will to win always and a gentleman off the pitch,
God rest his Soul,

A font of knowledge on all aspects of football, I know lads who have payed with him and they always respected his prowess on the pitch. Very said to read the horrible and hurtful words on WW toward a very ill man. The most reprehensible part is there is a very weak admin running the site who allowed the comments towards FP then the very same admin offers his condolences.
RIP.

Very, very sad news, he was a major contributer to the sports section and will be missed, immensely.
R.I.P".

As it was with I Vixen
Had a lot of banter with fireplace over the years and there was never any malice in it
Very sad to hear of the news of his passing

I had a few run ins with him but only on his stance about the IRA, I did take the Mick about that video he was in selling bog rolls and tobacco and that still makes me laugh.

I have still got that video of the tobacco thing and I took quite a lot of video at that time on the taxi rank and a lot of the people in the video's have retired now and Morrisons was still open then and all that as gone now, no Morrisons, no taxi rank and soon no Market
So I am thinking of dooing a compilation video, taken from a mix of photos and videos I took from that era, some 15 years ago, before the financial crash of 2008 when we were all happy
