I've often wondered why some pillocks seem to think having a camera gives them a sense of entitlement. Access all areas etc.
All the more so when vieo cameras came along.
Maybe it harks back to a day when if reporter/photographer from the local rag appeared, there'd be a chance for fifteen seconds of fame.

Perhaps he meant Springs Branch Traction Maintenance Depot.
In fact, I'm sure I heard him use those very words.

That's still operational. But, I did hear him say the words, "an old, abandoned train line".
It also says, "Abandoned-Train Line-Ince Cemetary" as the film title.
Springs Branch is a train line. It's an old train line and it's abandoned.
The chap was correct.

Abandoned, is it?
That's the trouble with your sort. You and the likes of Scooby Doo's gang. If it's not all oily and shiny, you think you can mooch all over it.
Get more gamekeepers with shotguns say I.

Indeed I did, along with 99.9% of the population of Wigan... oh and I mean the Metropolitan area, not the town!

I meant the Manc.

I didn't really hear him say traction maintenance depot. I was telling a little lie. I hope I won't go to hell for this, what with it being Chap-el Day.

If yoo went and tried to take that video now, you would notice that apart from the first bit of the owd WCML to Bickershaw Colliery line, which he walked down from Platt Wazz towards Wigan, literally about 50 yards, the rest of everything in that video has gone, because that area is part of the new electric TMD which is being built to augment the existing TMD at Springs Branch, new sidings, to stable electric multiple yoonit trains and a carriage washing facility and offices, are being built on the site of where he took the video, has he approached Springs Branch.
The line originally was the Eccles, Tyldesley & Wigan Line, which was owned by the London & North Western Railway, Dr Beeching closed the line in various stages, during the 1960's but the part of the line from Bickershaw Colliery to the WCML, remained open unti 1992 when Bickershaw Colliery closed, but the single track line was left in sit chew ...

99.9% of the Wigan council area won't know where or, indeed, what Springs Branch is. Including some real Wiganers!!

Wrong, you tell lies.
I bet 3/4 of the people on this excellent site know where it is.
