Does he own the workhouse or is he renting it, because although there is a lot of doom and gloom and Wigan Town Centre is crap, in comparison to a few years ago during the recession, most industrial premisses in the Wigan area now seem to be occupied, the old GUS building, wasn't empty for long

he could renew the lease if he wanted to, I know people who have worked there for years, have mortgages etc, seems because he is losing Debenhams Wigan has to suffer........

Mike Ashley hasn't got the clout to shut-down any Debenhams stores. He only ever held a 30% share and, according to reports, his offers weren't nearly high enough. It says he's lost all his shares plus a £150 million cash injection. It's debts were over £600 million, and rising.
If you ask me, it needs shutting a.s.a.p.! (Debenhams that is, not Sports Direct!)

I didnt say he did have the clout. The observation is, he is reported to be losing his shares and investments to the lenders, and therefore has chucked his dummy out with regard to Wigan...
