I watched, with interest. Until I read "underpaid". Then I switched it off!

No I'm not. How can well-paid unqualified workers claim to be 'underpaid'?
And, what's more, how can people hero worship those who make these false claims?

Blessed are the cheesemakers. I'm sure Tonker won't argue with that one.

Hospital jobs start at £18,000 a year for a 37 1/2 hour week. That's for an unqualified position, cleaning up, carrying stuff, wheeling folk around, no worries! etc.
Qualified nurses start at over £24,000 a year for a 37 1/2 hour week.
I don't consider that to be underpaid. Sorry, but no, it's a fair wage!

be fair Tonks, £18k is not good money, it amounts to approx £230 after stoppages, and that's for shift work, those hospital people work hard too, When Mrs Plum was in, I saw first hand how hard they work just in ordinary times, One day there was a nurse on duty I know, when i left at 8pm one night after visiting, that nurse was still there, the next morning 9 am i went in taking Mrs Plum some stuff, That nurse was there again, I said " you been on all night ?" , she answered " no, I finished a late shift yesterday, then started an early shift today, I'm on now till 8pm tonight " Going off that, think how much they must be doing now that the coronavirus is here,
they should get medals each and everyone and a bonus, from the top doctor to the cleaning people,

It's £320 a week net, Tom. They'll also get their pension top-up.
People who are self-employed are told, "well, you chose to go self-employed"! I say to anybody, in any job, "well, you chose to work there"!
NHS? there are people much, much worse off.

£18000 dived by 52 = £346, gross, then tax, NI, pension and parking fees ( that won't apply to all) but. its over the £26 you are shuvelling, I would normally ' rule of thumb' 30% stoppages from the gross, yes there are many worse off I know, many are on Minimum wage, then there the illegals working in the back of a pizza shop and so on, but the NHS are valued people giving good service and in these days their life, as we've seen on the news today,
you can't ask more than that,

Tom, anybody earning £18,000 a year would only pay tax (at 20%) on £5,500.
I've no doubt you can understand when I say that's approx. £110 a year, or £2.20 a week?

tell thee what, thas geet a right strop on toneet get a few beers down, the tax they pay will vary, 20% is minimum yes. then NI is 9 % then their pension contributions, they all pay to that new scheme as well, yet they are still putting their lives at risk, does that not mean anything to you ? If you fall ill, they will attend and help you, no matter what, If you fell in a mine shaft full of rattlesnakes, one of them would come down to you and help you,
