I think the fact that it's Sunday has influenced the amount of traffic. I know it's been less, due to lockdown, but it's still busy during the week. I was on the M6 yesterday afternoon and it wasn't empty, by any means.
There was a traffic jam on Liverpool Road, going into Ashton centre, on Friday!

I came through Haydock Island and on to the M6 at about 5pm on Friday, and there were no traffic jams there, and the M6 had mainly HGV's on it, but it still had only a fraction of the traffic it would have had on it at that time on a normal Friday at 5pm.
On Friday the slip road off the motorway to Goose Green was closed all day, and I presume that traffic from the Liverpool side on the East Lancs Road, which would normally have gone that way, was getting off at Poofall, and then going down Liverpool Road ....
On about Ashton I was talking to an old gent, and we were talking about old NatWest Branches which are no longer with us, and for the life of me I could not remember where the NatWest in Ashton had been located, so I thought that it must have been gone a long time ago, and the building is not recognisable as a bank anymore, so I was rather shocked when I spotted the said building a few days ago

I honestly had never noticed it there, I was really shocked to see it open with customers in the social distancing queue outside
