First topic message reminder :

Really limited space wise, and behind with everything, but I have sown some 'Sutton' Broad Beans, 'Onward' Peas, 'Wodan' Beetroot, 'MoneyMaker' Tomatoes, 'Black Beauty' Aubergine, 'Beth' Baby Cucumbers and Melon so far. Very Happy

Great, Tom What You Got Growing? - Page 2 709307421

I lost one tomato plant, the stem collapsed. Hoping it was woodlouse rather than stem rot. Possibly one more being taken out, because the leaves don't look too great. Always good to grow a surplus for this reason. Very Happy

I've quite a few flowers on my tomatoes, one fruit so far. The fruit trees are swelling nicely, got boatloads of raspberries, quite a few blackberries, the redcurrants are there, but I will be leaving them alone this year. Chilli is flowering too.

The African blue lily (the rather sorry looking thing at the back of the greenhouse in the pic above) has it's flower pods now. The leaves are looking poor due to being overwatered :roll:so it's living in the greenhouse to dry out a bit. Very Happy

Oh Tem don't rub it in about the fruit trees, I miss mine badly. Will have to cram as much as I can into this little yard LOL. Hope its not stem rot on your tomatoes it could affect the whole lot.

Ha ha, how many attempts is that? Laughing

Yes, I am looking into growing patio fruit, and some things can climb. When me and Thor moved back home he chewed my brother's apple sapling LOL. Laughing

This will be the third time, but I'm going to try budding instead of whip.

I fancy the climbing strawberries, have you seen them? Very Happy

Funny you should mention climbing strawberries, I haven't seen any for sale, but looking through my Grandad's old gardening books the other day they mention about how you can kind of get strawberries to climb up netting - not sure myself and never tried it - but I guess there is a constant link of water/nutrients given the runners.  Do you have a pic Tem?

Estimated runner length up to 39 inches. It is amazing how long some runners do get though. So, are you ordering any LOL? Laughing

....I do wonder if the longer runners would result in smaller fruits/yields.
