Involved in D Day was Lynn Davis "Buck" Compton of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the Band Of Brothers fame. Funnily enough after the war he became a Court of Appeal judge and prosecuted Sirhan Sirhan for the shooting of Robert F Kennedy.
