That's what I thought, someone just mentioned it on the radio and said his dad used to drink this years ago
I think a black velvet was guiness and champagne or guiness and cider

Thinking about it, it was probably just called Guinness and black.

In the 1960's I would go to Wigan Tech on Parsons Walk 7-00 till 9-00 at night.
Coming home I would call in The Crofters (I think) on Market St for an pint of
Watneys Red Barrel, 2 shillings if memory serves, fabulous to a young sophisticate
from Ince. Then home and my Mum would have a beef dinner waiting, happy days.

When I worked in The Royal Oak for Timmy Dickens (happy days) all the semi scousers used to drink Twighlight when they came to Central Park (split pint, bitter and lager)
Tommy reckoned it was because they were used to Greenall Whitley pubs and their bitter was so bad.
